Grid Drafting (For Cube)

Grid Drafting is typically done when drafting a cube with two or three players.

The Draft

Create 18 packs (24 for three players) of 9 random cards each.  Cards will be drafted in rounds.  Start each round by creating a "grid" of cards 3 x 3 from a "pack of 9 random cards.  The first player (chosen randomly) drafts an entire row or column (3 cards).  The second player then drafts another row or column (2-3 cards).  If playing with three players the third player "drafts" all the remaining cards (3-4 cards).

The next round repeats this process with rotating who gets to pick first.  Continue this process until all of the 9 card packs are drafted in this manner.

Game Play

For two players:  Play either a standard match (best two out of three games) or a longer match of best three out or five games.

For three players:  Play either a three person multi-player game or a round-robin set of standard matches.
